Used gear warranties are limited by nature

A meaningful used warranty covers function, not wear. It should state that the item powers up, passes signal and meets the tested specification at dispatch, and it should exclude cosmetic wear and damage caused in transit.

Anything broader is usually marketing. Manufacturers do not transfer most new-product warranties to second owners, so a dealer offering a year of coverage is offering their own service, not the factory's.

Structure a useful return window

A short, clearly defined window is better than a vague long one. Three to seven days from delivery is enough to unbox, photograph and functionally test the item, and it keeps both sides honest.

State who pays return freight and what condition the item must be in. Damage from improper packing on the return leg is a common dispute that clear terms prevent.

What to put in writing

The listing should record condition grade, tested functions, included accessories and known defects. The invoice should repeat the key points and state the return window.

If a seller refuses to put tested functions in writing, that is the risk you are accepting. Price it accordingly or buy elsewhere.
